London, here we come! Finally, our language trip to London could begin! On Sunday evening at 10:00 PM, shortly after departure, sleep was out of the question. The excitement was too great. Certainly, the desire for a relaxing time also played a big part. When we made our first stop in Dortmund after about 3.5 hours and sampled the culinary delights of McDonald's, the first signs of tiredness began to appear. Then, at 4:00 AM, when Martin, our bus driver for the coming week, joined us, we knew things were starting to get serious. Through Belgium, then on to France, and at 10:00 AM, we took the ferry to the British mainland. After some extreme waves and several near-death experiences, we finally reached England. A little more driving on the left lane, and soon the road sign read Canterbury. A small but charming city in the southeast of England. Some went for a meal, others visited the beautifully decorated Christmas market. After a few hours, we finally drove to New Eltham, where our host families were already waiting for us. Everyone was happy to go to bed after such a tiring first day. We'll see what surprises the next few days hold!"
